The Rainmaker

“The Rainmaker” opens the season on September 26, running for three consecutive weekends. The show dates and performance times are September 26, 27, October 3, 4, 10 and 11 at 8:00pm and September 28 and October 5 at 5:00pm (Please note that the matinee time has changed to 5:00pm from 2:00pm).

Les Ober of Torrington will direct the play, written by N. Richard Nash in 1954. The piece focuses on a pivotal day in the life of the Curry family, who are more concerned with the apparent death of daughter Lizzie’s marriage prospects than with the death of their cattle due to drought. The arrival of Starbuck, a con man promising rain in exchange for a hefty sum, starts in motion events that will change the entire family forever.
